trasse.ch is responsible for the discrimination-free train path allocation process for the annual timetable and for the timetable as updated during the course of the year (running timetable). The following activities are part of that task:

  • Checking and publishing the train path catalogues for the Gotthard and Lötschberg-Simplon transit axes as an aid to freight railway undertakings (RU)
  • Receipt and formal checking of the applications made for train paths in the annual timetable
  • Passing the applications for train paths forward to the infrastructure managers with instructions to draw up the draft annual working timetable
  • Supervision of the compilation of the annual working timetable and ensuring it is drawn up without discrimination
  • Active leadership of the conflict-resolution process for the annual timetable and for the timetable as updated during the course of the year
  • Reasoned refusal to allocate train paths which cannot be allocated in the annual timetable and in the timetable as updated during the course of the year
  • Provisional and definitive allocation of train paths in accordance with statutory rules
  • Approval of the annual working timetable
